An MPC file is a compressed audio file using Musepack technology. Converting an MPC file to a WAV file will make it easier to create an audio CD from the MPC file, or to convert the MPC file to another file format.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Download FreeMPC. FreeMPC is a free Java program that will convert your MPC file(s) to WAV format. You can download FreeMPC from http://www.canudo.net/derelict/freempc/download.html.

Run FreeMPC. After you download FreeMPC, run the program from the location where you downloaded it. On the main screen of FreeMPC, click the pulldown menu under the option "Convert the MPC files to" and select WAV.

  3. Step 3

Add the MPC file(s) you want to convert. In FreeMPC, after you selected WAV format, click the "Add" button. You will be asked to select the MPC file(s) you want to convert. Select the file(s) and click the "Add" button.

  4. Step 4

Convert the MPC files. After you have selected all the MPC files you want to convert, press the "Convert the files" button on the main screen. The MPC files will be converted to WAV format.
