1
Protect items that may be damaged by bleach, such as carpeting. If possible, remove these items from the cleaning area, or cover them with drop cloths.
-
2
Mix 1 cup (8 oz.) of bleach into 1 gallon of water. Fill a second bucket with 1 gallon of water for rinsing.
-
-
3
Choose a small area to clean. Working in small areas results in better quality control. Elegant Cleaning Services recommends mapping out the wall mentally before beginning. For instance, in a shower area, start with the wall on the left. Clean the wall from top to bottom before moving on to the back wall.
-
4
Dip a terrycloth towel into the bleach solution. Wring out the towel so it is damp, not dripping wet.
-
5
Apply the bleach solution to the wall with light pressure in a circular motion. Leave the wall wet for about 10 minutes to allow the bleach to sanitize the area.
-
6
Scrub the grout lines with a scrub brush while allowing the bleach to sanitize the area.
-
7
Dip a clean terrycloth towel in plain water and rinse the bleach solution. Buff the wall with a dry cloth.
