Tips & Warnings
  • Keyboards are not that expensive if you have had a really bad spill, you just might be better off buying a new one, instead of trying to clean the one you have.
  • Take picture or a drawing of the keyboard before removing any key caps.
  • Spills on a laptop computer require more serious professional help.

on 6/16/2009 great tips, I have also used a mixture of alcohol and distilled water to gently swish the keyboard through then dry upside down over towels. The alcohol prevents the water from causing rust on the connectors. But if you are really attached to that keyboard... still keep it unplugged for 24 hours so that no hint of moisture is there. I added this to my favorites, you have lots of great advice here!
