Things You'll Need:
- Cotton swabs
- Flathead screwdriver

Step 1
Unplug PC keyboardUnplug the keyboard.

Step 2
Computer KeyboardIf you spilled water in it, turn the keyboard upside down and let it drain and dry out for at least twenty-four hours.

Step 3
Remove key capsIf you have spilled something sticky in it, pry the key caps off the keyboard with a flathead screwdriver, this will give you better access to the sticky mess. Don't take off the enter key, spacebar or any other large key caps.

Step 4
Use cotton swabs on PCGather several cotton swabs and wet them. Using the swabs you can go around each key and clean up the mess.

Step 5
Clean PC keybaordReplace all the key caps after rinsing and drying them.

Step 6
Plug in keyboardLet everything dry very well for about twenty-four hours before plugging the keyboard back in.

on 6/16/2009 great tips, I have also used a mixture of alcohol and distilled water to gently swish the keyboard through then dry upside down over towels. The alcohol prevents the water from causing rust on the connectors. But if you are really attached to that keyboard... still keep it unplugged for 24 hours so that no hint of moisture is there. I added this to my favorites, you have lots of great advice here!
