Things You'll Need:
- Chamois or washcloth
- Soap and water or other cleaning product
- Hose
- 1 can of cola
-
Step 1
Using a garden hose, spray down your wheels and rims. This removes surface dirt and accumulated road grime and salt.
-
Step 2
Mix up a bucket of cleaning solution. You can use water and mild dish soap, or you can purchase a product such as Simoniz Car Wash Concentrate or Griot's Chrome Wheel Cleaning Kit. Work the cleaning solution of your choice into the rims using a chamois or washcloth. Use small circular motions and gentle pressure.
-
Step 3
Rinse with clean water from the hose.
-
Step 4
Inspect the rims to see if there is any remaining dirt or debris.
-
Step 5
If your rims have developed rust or corrosion, simply pour a can of cola slowly over the rims, and work it in, in gentle circles with a chamois. Make sure to rinse the rims with water and dry thoroughly after applying cola.
-
Step 6
Buff the chrome with a clean dry chamois.
