How to Convert RM to MPEG-4
Real Player Media (RM) files are video clips or full movies stored in a format meant to be viewed with the Real Player software program. Although several other programs are capable of playing RM files you may have a video playback program or hand held video device that doesn't recognize the file. If you need to view the file on an incompatible program you will first need to convert it to a different extension, such as the MPEG-4 file format.

Click on the "Browse" button if you instead want the file to be saved somewhere else. Click on the name of the folder where you want the MPEG-4 file to be saved and then click on "Open."

Tips & Warnings
Check the terms and conditions of the RM conversion program when you install it. Many video conversion programs capable of converting an RM file to an MPEG-4 file are trial versions that only allow you to use the program for 30 days before you have to purchase the full version.
Create a secondary copy of the original RM file before attempting to convert it to the MPEG-4 format. Having a second copy will prevent any headaches over losing the file if there is any sort of problem with the conversion process.
