How to Convert WMV to AVI on a Mac

Instructions

1. Go to the Xilisoft website or the CNET Download Center (see Resources) to download and install the Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate. It is free to download and use for a trial period, but you have to pay to keep it after that. (2009 Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate for Mac price: $59.95.)

2. Click on "Profile" to set your output file type. Select AVI for the output.

3. Click the "Add Files" button, which looks like a filmstrip with a plus sign on it, to add the WMV files. You can select more than one WMV file to be converted at a time.

4. Click on "Browse" by "Destination" to select the location on your computer for the converted AVI files.

5. Click on the button that looks like a filmstrip with a green arrow. This is the "Convert" button that will start the WMV-to-AVI conversion. When a pop-up appears after the conversion is complete, click on "OK" to use the new AVI files.
