Step 1
Once you have found your wedding gown, get a swatch of fabric from the gown, determine the color shoe you will wear with your gown such as a pump, sandal, flat shoe or low heel, the height needed and your shoe budget.

Take your swatch of fabric with you everywhere in your purse in an area it won't get dirty such as where you keep your pictures that are under the plastic. You may also purchase an ID holder or zip lock sandwich bag to hold your swatch.

Step 3
Now you are ready for your shoe hunt. Look at shoes at local shoe stores such as Payless shoes, Famous Footwear, DSW Shoe Warehouse and any shoe outlet stores. Payless has a special section of shoes that they can dye for you at a reasonable price, Ask the sales person.

If you don't find any shoes there, check the Goodwill, any used clothing store and any upscale consignment shop. You can also look on eBay or craigslist. When looking online, keep in mind that there is the possibility of a mismatched color.

Step 5
Always check with Friends and Family, they may have a shoe that is brand new, worn once or a shoe that can be embellished. Once you find the shoe, try it on with your wedding gown to check the height and balance of the look of the gown with the shoe.

Break the shoe in and be sure to scrap the bottom of the shoe to prevent falling.
