Things You'll Need:
- Windows Vista
-
Step 1
First, click on the Start menu and access the Control Panel from here.
-
Step 2
Here, you will notice many icons available. From this window, click on the "Personalization" icon/option. You will see a screen similar to the image provided.
-
Step 3
Now, this can be hard to spot by some users. At the top left corner of the window, click on "Change Desktop Icons." This will then bring you to a screen similar to the image shown. Check the box called "Recycle bin" within this screen.
-
Step 4
Click Apply/OK, go back to your desktop, and your recycle bin should now be there. As an extra step, try to read the prompts Windows presents you with when committing to any actions. It is very easy to accidentally click on deleting the icon, rather than deleting the contents within it.
