Things You'll Need:
- No equipment necessary
-
Step 1
Sit in a chair or sofa with your knees together and legs bent. Sit your baby on your legs with her legs on either side. Hold baby and bounce saying ," This is the way the lady rides, tri tree tree tree, tri tree tree tree, this is the way the lady rides, tri tree tri tree tri TREE!"
-
Step 2
On the final "TREE" part your legs and dip baby down between them. Careful not to let her go or bump her head. On the second and third verses, the bouncing and rhythms will increase more dramatically.
-
Step 3
This time sing, "This is the way the gentlemen rides, gallop-a-trot, gallop-a-trot, this is the way the gentleman rides, gallop-a, gallop-a-TROT." Do this with more bounce and more pronounced dip. And now the final verse, "This is the way the farmer rides, hobbledy-hoy, hobbledy-hoy, this is the way the farmer rides hobbledy, hobbledy -HOY."
-
Step 4
This time sway your legs from side to side, and sway baby like she was the farmer riding on an old nag. On the final "HOY" tip your baby sideways off your knees and catching her in your arms as she dips.
