Things You'll Need:
- BlackBerry Device
- USB Cable
- VZ Access Manager disc or Internet connection
- BlackBerry Desktop Manager (Installed on your computer)

Step 1
First, you must call your carrier (Verizon) and add the Broadband Access Connect feature to your account. Without the feature, you can still install the software, but you will not be able to connect.
Note: There is an additional charge to use your BlackBerry as a modem. The additional charge is based on the data plan that you have. You can check with your carrier (Verizon) to find out how much that charge will be. -
Step 2
If you have the disc that came with your BlackBerry, you can skip to step 9.
Otherwise, if you don't have the disc, connect your computer to the internet and open your browser to www.vzam.net and click on Supported Devices -

Scroll down until you see your device and click on the link listed to the right

Enter your 10 digit Verizon Wireless phone number

Click Download Now

Run the file

The file will begin downloading

Once the download is completed, you will be prompted to run the file

The program will begin the installation process

Click Next

Accept the Terms & Conditions and click Next

Leave the default settings and click Next

Leave the default location and choose Next

Click Install to start the installation

The application will begin installing

Click the box next to Launch VZ Access Manager for RIM and click Finish

The setup wizard will open. Click Next

Choose Detect WWAN Device Only and click Next

Choose Data Cable (For tethered handsets and PDA/Advanced Devices) and click Next

Plug in your phone to the USB cable and the Computer and click Next

Make sure your phone is turned on and click Next

The application will now detect your device. Click Yes when found

Click Next

Enter your Verizon Wireless phone number

Click Finish
Note: Clicking the box on the screen will run VZ Access Manager by default every time you start up your computer (This is a person preference) -

VZ Access Manager application will open. Click Connect

Click Continue (You can check the box if you don't want to see the warning again)

VZ Access Manager will now show that you are connected and you can browse the internet.
