Make sure the phone is charged and in standby mode once powered on. Click "End," "Clear" or "Back" to get to the main screen.

Go to the start-up screen features area. In many Sony Ericsson phone models, they can be accessed within "Settings" in "Menu" (whose icon is typically represented as a wrench or tools). Navigate to the "Display" sub-menu, then select "Startup Screen" from the list. Browse through the options and select among the stock pictures or downloaded images.

Select "Menu" and then "Media" to view and tag your pictures (or select "File Manager, then the "Pictures" icon from standby mode) if you want to use a stored photo as the start-up picture.
