How to Make a Balloon Centerpiece

A balloon centerpiece might be just the perfect splash of color for your next gathering. When you create a centerpiece with balloons, you instantly have bright color and interest on a table. Balloon centerpieces are inexpensive also, which makes them a wise choice as well. There are many different ways to create a balloon centerpiece. Things You'll Need

• 5 to 7 Regular Balloons (filled with helium)
• Confetti
• Balloon Weight
• Colored Tissue Paper
• Curling Ribbons (various colors)
• Scissors
• Round Mirror (approximately 24-inch diameter)

Instructions

1. Place the round mirror in the center of the table.

2. Cut a length of curling ribbon for each balloon. The lengths of ribbon should be approximately 6 to 8 feet long.

3. Tie a curling ribbon onto each balloon.

4. Decide how long you want the highest center balloon to be and then attach the balloon weight to this ribbon so that the balloon will rise above the table at the desired height. The extra curling ribbon that is left over will be curled for decoration later.

5. Attach the curling ribbons from the other balloons to the balloon weight. Make these balloons varying heights under the center balloon.

6. Curl each tail of curling ribbon extending out from the balloon weight. Press the flat open blade of the scissors to the ribbon and quickly slide the blade along the ribbon. This process will curl the ribbon.

7. Place a 12-inch square of tissue paper under the balloon weight and bring up the edges of the tissue paper around the balloon weight to conceal the balloon weight. Fan out the edges of the tissue paper attractively.

8. Set the balloon weight in the center of the mirror. Sprinkle confetti around the base of the balloon weight on top of the mirror. Arrange the curled ribbon around the base of the centerpiece in a way that pleases you.
