How to Find Clothes for Kids on Sale

Children grow so fast that it seems like you just bought them clothes when they are ready for the next size. Keeping up with their wardrobes can be expensive if you always pay full price. Finding children's clothing being sold at a discount is key in making your money go as far as it possibly can. You also have the option of buying twice as many outfits for your kids if you shop at the stores that are having sales.

Instructions

1. Read the weekly flyers that come in the mail or in the newspaper. These flyers tell you what clothing is on sale that week at department stores such as Kmart and Walmart. Each week, these department stores feature a different brand of clothing on sale, and it is very rare that none of the children's clothing is on sale.

2. Sign up for a store rewards card. Once you do this, the store has your mailing address and will mail you brochures of upcoming sales and sometimes even a coupon for an additional percentage off. Do this for stores such as J.C. Penny and Pebbles, which have the latest in children's clothing.

3. Ask the store manager if the store sends out newsletters to customers via email. Many stores that sell kids' clothes do this. If the store manager says yes, give him your email address so that you can be notified of any upcoming sales.

4. Go shopping on a holiday weekend. Holidays are key for children's clothing to be sold at a discount. You don't even need to see a sales brochure on a Memorial Day weekend or a 4th of July weekend. Just go to the store of your choice and look for the red sale sign above the children's clothing racks.

5. Watch television ads. Stores that are having big sales on children's clothing will place ads with local television stations. Stores such as Burlington Coat Factory do this on a regular basis. The commercial will tell you what is on sale and the sale dates.

6. Call up your local thrift stores and find out when their half-price day or bag sale is. They hold these sales at least twice per year to get ready for the next season. It is a great way to get bagfuls of children's clothing for only a few dollars.

• Don't forget to check eBay. They often have lots of children's clothing at a huge discount.

• Make sure the price after the discount is still a price you are willing to pay for the clothing; otherwise, you aren't really getting a bargain.
