How to Convert an HTML Table Into a PDF
Sometimes it is necessary to convert an HyperText Markup Language (HTML) table to a Portable Document Format (PDF) for inclusion into a book, handout or even to display on a web page. Until a few years ago this was a difficult process and it required purchasing expensive special software. Now there are inexpensive and even free programs which will allow you to do this task.

Download and install the free trial of FastStone Capture (see Resources).

Go to the website of the HTML table you wish to convert to PDF.

Start "FastStone Capture" and click the "Palette" icon and select "To Editor."

Press "Control" and "Print Screen" and release--this will cause FastStone Capture to allow you to draw a box around the table you wish to convert to PDF. Position the cursor at one corner of the table, press and hold the left mouse button and drag the box around the table. When you have the box drawn, release the mouse button and the editor will open.

Click the "Save As" button and the "Save As" box will appear. Click the down-arrow by the "Save as Type:" and select "Adobe PDF Format (*.pdf)." Name your file and click "Save."

Open the file with your PDF viewing or editing software.

Tips & Warnings
If you are not happy with the placement of the box you drew around your table in Step 4, simply press "Escape" before you let go of the mouse button and you can draw it again by pressing "Control" and "Print Screen." Also, notice the small magnification screen that appears in Step 4 to help you with cursor positioning. If your table is bigger than the window in your browser, hold the "Control" key and press the minus key until the table fits into the browser window.
