Things You'll Need:
- 5 gallon jug or carboy
- Funnel
- 4 cans grape juice concentrate, thawed
- 4 pounds sugar
- Stockpot
- Wine yeast
- Airlock
- Rubber stopper
-
Step 1
Clean the jug or carboy with hot water.
-
Step 2
Pour the four cans of grape juice concentrate into the carboy using a funnel.
-
Step 3
Pour in enough water to make 3 1/2 gallons of grape juice/water mixture.
-
Step 4
Measure 1/2 gallon of water into a large stockpot. Heat over low heat and add the 4 pounds of sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Pour this into the carboy.
-
Step 5
Measure 3 tablespoons of sugar into a small bowl. Add 1 package of wine yeast. Add 1/4 cup hot water.
-
Step 6
Pour the yeast mixture into the carboy after the mixture has become bubbly. This should take less than 10 minutes.
-
Step 7
Secure the airlock and rubber stopper on the carboy. Set the carboy in a spot where it will not be disturbed and the temperature doesn't have a lot of fluctuation.
-
Step 8
Allow the wine mixture to ferment for approximately one month. When the airlock no longer bubbles when the jug or carboy is tapped, the wine is done.
