A personalized bracelet makes an attractive and thoughtful gift for women of all ages. Memory wire is a type of jewelry wire that holds its coiled shape, making it easy to wear and even easier to work with. Both children and adults can work with this wire, though children might need a little help from an adult. Letter beads can be used to make a personalized message or add a name to the bracelet. These beads are available in metal, clay, and plastic varieties at bead and craft stores.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Memory wire, bracelet size
  • End caps
  • Jewelry glue
  • Beads
  • Seed beads
  • Letter beads
  • Memory wire cutters
  1. Step 1

Cut a length of memory that is three complete loops long. Memory wire comes in a coil with several loops, usually 50 or more.

  2. Step 2

Place a small amount of jewelry glue inside the opening of one of the end caps. Push one end of the wire into the cap and allow the glue to dry for 10 minutes.

  3. Step 3

String your plain beads onto the first loop of the memory wire.

  4. Step 4

Arrange the letter beads to spell out your chosen word(s) or name. Place the first letter bead onto the memory wire, then place a seed bead after it. Continue alternating letter beads and seed beads until the word is complete.

  5. Step 5

Place plain beads onto the wire until the third loop is completed. Leave enough room on the end of the wire for the end cap.

  6. Step 6

Glue an end cap onto the final end of the memory wire and allow to dry. You can slip your hand into the bracelet and the wire will return to its original coiled shape once on your wrist.

Tips & Warnings
  • End caps and memory wire are available at beading and craft stores. Memory wire in necklace size can be used to make personalized necklaces. You can finish the ends with a turned loop instead of end caps.
  • Memory wire can damage wire cutters, so have a pair just for cutting memory wire.
