How to Build the Fastest Car with NFS Prostreet
Need For Speed: ProStreet is a version of Electronic Arts' popular, acclaimed racing-simulation program for the PC, called Need for Speed. One of players' favorite parts of the game is building their own car from scratch. Building the fastest car can seem like a pretty complex task if you don't know much about the game's mechanics or real cars in general. But with a little help, you can soon be making your own blazing fast car in NFS Prostreet.

Get a blueprint. Blueprints are the basis around which you will build your car. You can acquire them two ways: through playing the game and winning races, or trading online. If you trade online, the "name" of the person from which you traded will be on the blueprint under "Designed by."

Enter Autosculpt. From the main menu, enter "Autosculpt" to begin building your new car. Select the different, customizable elements of your car from here; bumpers, wheels, roof scoops, spoilers, and hoods. Each has a different impact on your car's performance; for example, put vents in the bumpers to increase downflow, which in turn increases your car's stability and overall speed. The bar on the lower part of the Autosculpt menu will show you how you are progressing, speed-wise.

Put your car in the "wind tunnel" after you are happy with your car's new look, to have the game's engine test it out; just like in real life, the estimates may be wrong and only the wind tunnel will tell you where you can improve.

Get performance parts: There are four levels of performance parts, numbered from 1 to 4, with 4 being highest. Since you start with "stock" parts, they won't be covered here. Each performance part (engine, suspension, transmissions, and nitrous oxide) will be rated 1 through 4 and can also be "tuned" using the "Tune" menu to increase performance. This is fine detail work and you must test each part with the "Dyno Test" button to see if your tweaks actually improved overall performance, did nothing, or made matters worse. Once you have the parts tuned, save the blueprint again.
