Cystic acne manifests itself as cysts or bumps beneath the surface of the skin, while other kinds of acne, such as whiteheads or blackheads, feature clear heads on the pimples. Cystic acne does not. Mix equal parts baking soda and water, creating a paste. Apply the paste to your cystic acne. Let it remain on the area for approximately 20 minutes before rinsing. The baking soda will absorb excess oil and eliminate bacteria, helping your cystic acne to disappear more quickly.

Eat a healthy diet. Solid nutrition is essential to healthy skin. Get as many vitamins and nutrients as possible from fresh, natural foods. Also, drink at least 64 oz. water daily to keep skin hydrated and healthy.

Place a hot compress on your cystic acne. The heat will help to pull pus out from beneath the skin's surface. It will also reduce swelling and help your cystic acne to be less noticeable. You can simply soak a washcloth in hot water and hold it on the affected area for approximately 10 minutes.
