Instructions

    • 1

Cut a piece of colorful card stock to measure 5 1/2 inches wide by 8 1/2 inches long. Fold it in half to measure 4 1/4 inches wide by 5 1/2 inches long to form an invitation. With the folded edge as the top of the purse invitation, cut the remainder of the invitation in the shape of a purse. Tie a ribbon around the fold for the purse handle. Decorate the invitation and write the invite information inside. Make several and mail them in invitation envelopes to your guests.

Insert styrofoam floral bricks inside the purses for centerpieces. Cover the foam with Spanish moss or shredded paper and arrange silk flowers in the purses. Place the purse centerpieces on tablecloth covered tables and around the room that you are decorating.

    • 3

Cut an end from recycled Jell-O boxes and cover the boxes with decorative scrapbook paper or wallpaper samples. Paper-punch holes along the top cut edge and add ribbon for handles. These are your purse favor containers. Fill them with shredded paper, lipstick, small mirror and wrapped chocolates for your guests to take home.

Bake a cake in a 9-inch by 13-inch pan. Place the cake on an inverted foil-covered cookie sheet. Cut away excess to shape the cake like a purse. Frost the cake with the color of your choice. Use a spice jar or salt-and-pepper shaker and a toothpick to draw circles on a Fruit Roll-up sheet. Cut the circles out and place them on your frosted purse cake for a polka dot pattern. Twist two lengths of red or black vine licorice. Poke an end of the twisted licorice in each side at the top of the cake as the purse handle.
