How to Get Rid of Pimple Redness
Acne is a blemish that appears on the skin due to oil and dirt collecting in the skin's sebaceous glands. Pimples can appear on any area of the body, but occur most on the face, back and chest. Although anyone of any age can get acne, pimples or blemishes, almost all teenagers will have some type of acne during puberty. Cystic acne is a pimple that is swollen and raises from the skin, whereas regular acne is usually only slightly raised. The telltale sign of having a pimple is redness on the skin. There are a few home remedies to get rid of pimple redness temporarily.

1
At night, crush up an aspirin and add a few drops of water to make a paste. Apply the paste to any red blemishes on your face or body. Let the paste dry overnight and wash off in the morning. The aspirin will reduce long-term swelling throughout the night.

The next morning, wash the blemished area with a gentle exfoliant for 1 minute. Rinse your face thoroughly with water and pat your face dry with a towel. Your blemishes may appear more red after this step, but this is only temporary and the redness will be minimized after completing all five steps.

Immediately after exfoliating, place an ice cube on the blemished area until the ice cube melts, or for about 2 minutes. The cold temperature of the ice cube will reduce any swelling.

4
After the ice cube has melted completely, rub honey on the afflicted area. Honey will soothe the blemish and provide moisture. After 5 minutes, rinse the honey thoroughly with warm water and pat your face dry with a towel.

Use a cotton swab to apply red-reducing eye drops to the afflicted area. Carry the eye drops with you to reapply throughout the day, because the red-reducing drop will last for only about an hour.

Tips & Warnings
Use oil-free makeup and moisturizer to keep blemishes at bay. If you have excessive cystic acne with blemishes that do not go away after 1 week, see a dermatologist. Do not pick or squeeze pimples, as this will spread bacteria and may cause other pimples to develop.
