Things You'll Need:
- Distilled water
- Hydrogen peroxide, 3 percent solution
- Glass
- Dentures
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrush
-
Step 1
Make your denture cleaning mixture. It is best to make this fresh each night. You should be using a mix that is about 40 percent hydrogen peroxide and 60 percent water. This means that if you are using 2 cups of mixture, then you will need 4/5 cup of hydrogen peroxide and 1 1/5 cup of distilled water. Pour the two together in a large glass that will hold your dentures.
-
Step 2
Immerse your dentures in the fluid. If you like, you can shake the glass gently, but do not bang your dentures around. The goal is more to swirl the fluid through them. The dentures can stay in the glass for about 15 minutes.
-
Step 3
Rinse your dentures thoroughly. Make sure that you rinse every part of your dentures completely to get all of the buildup off of them before you replace them in your mouth.
-
Step 4
Brush your dentures. Use the toothbrush and toothpaste to brush your dentures. This cleans any remaining debris off the dentures and will make them fresh and minty when you replace them in your mouth.
-
Step 5
Rinse the dentures again. Get all of the toothpaste off of the dentures. Now they should be clean, bright and white.
