Things You'll Need:

  • Internet
  • Dude Ranch Vacation
  1. Step 1

Start by surfing the Internet to see what area you want to vacation in. Most of the more famous dude ranch vacations are found in the west in states such as Montana, Idaho, Colorado and even New Mexico. It is important to know the area you choose so you can also price out the airline tickets to fly to the area of the dude ranch you choose.

  2. Step 2

Decide on how flexible you are with the dates of your dude ranch vacation and the number of days you want to be on the ranch. The average dude ranch vacation is 5 to 7 days and in anytime during the summer or early fall (when it is warm.)

  3. Step 3

When you decide on the area and dates, you need to review the different dude ranches to see what experiences are available on your trip. Some dude ranches provide lessons, rides on the trails and plenty of old west traditions. Usually these are documented on the individual websites.

  4. Step 4

Once you have narrowed down the dude ranches to half dozen possible places to vacation at, you need to take a careful look at the prices. Since dude ranches are mostly run by families. these prices are negotiable so you need to pick up the phone and call to see if there are any discounts available for your dates.

  5. Step 5

Once you make a final decision on which dude ranch you want to vacation at, you need to book your vacation. This will require a deposit for a hold during the time you want to visit.

  6. Step 6

The final payment will need to be sent prior to your vacation so all you will need to do is show up on the dates agreed upon and relax!
