Things You'll Need:
- Pen and Paper
- Internet
- Friends
-
Step 1
Bridesmaids are also there to helpAsk your friends and family of a wedding planner they have used in the past. During these economic times many planners are reducing their costs because of low demand.
-
Step 2
Ask your pastor and his wife if they have a wedding planner assigned to the church. Many times the wedding planner is member of the church and is willing to work with you on a budget. She also may not charge for her service but you should offer her some type of money for her time and efforts.
-
Step 3
Sign up for online bridal web pages, magazines, and bridal fairs. These events often give away a prize of a vacation or wedding supplies. This will reduce your spending in one area to add to your wedding planner donation.
-
Step 4
Sign up for the wedding dress shop bulletins. They usually will have people advertising wedding planning. Ask the owners of the shop whom they normally work with for arranging and planning weddings.
-
Step 5
Ask a family or friend to be the wedding planner. Everyone has someone in their family who likes to attend weddings and are self appointed "experts". If you are not financially able to afford a planner ask the person to do it. Although you may not get things such as flowers and location at a discount they can help call around and make appointments for you. Return the favor in the future to them by watching their kids or helping out in some other way.

on 6/5/2009 It's a great idea if you can get a friend to help you plan your wedding. There are so many calls that need to be made. Personally, I bought a small binder and carried it everywhere. I checked off things as I got them accomplished.
