If you like to drink wine with a meal now and then. Here are some very basic ideas on what wine to serve.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

There are so many different kinds of wine what tastes best with food can be a daunting option to consider.I try to choose a wine that is popular with all my guests. You also need to consider what type of food your are having for dinner. Some wines do not go well with certain dishes.Too strong a wine can overpower the flavor of the dish you are serving.

  2. Step 2

A white wine like Chardonnay goes well with veal most fish and salmon dishes.Chinese foods are a good choice for white wines as long as they are not spicy. Red wines such as Barberra go well with lasagna, different spaghetti dishes and of course pizza. A Merlot red wine is great if your are having a barbecue.Merlot goes well with grilled meat, and chicken. Cabernet Sauvignon is a great choice to have with chocolate, roast lamb, steaks and water fowl dishes.

  3. Step 3

You should serve your bottle of wine at a chilled temperature. You should keep the wine refrigerated for about 3 hours before serving. If you are in a hurry you can place the wine bottle in a ice bucket full of ice. Remember not to overfill the wine glass so the rest of the wine in the bottle has a chance to breathe.A word of caution when serving red wines be careful not to spill the wine it can leave a nasty stain on clothes and carpets. My favorite is simple cheese and crackers with a glass of wine.
