Prep for a Move
Prep for a Move

Moving can be very stressful. Here are some helpful hints for making moving a little less stressful.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • boxes
  • tape
  1. Step 1

Collect as many free boxes and newspapers from friends and relatives, so that you keep the cost of packing to a minimum.

  2. Step 2

Make a list of all the addresses that you will need to change, credit cards, magazines, etc... (Start calling them as so as you can)

  3. Step 3

Contact utilities to let them know that you will be either moving the service or canceling their service.

  4. Step 4

Contact a moving company and secure a date to move.

  5. Step 5

Start packing things that you do not use on a regular basis. Remember to finish one room before moving on to another.

  6. Step 6

Remember to label what is in each box so that when you get to your new home unpacking will be less stressful and more organized.

  7. Step 7

As you are packing go through your items and get rid of anything you do not need. If you have a lot of stuff you would like to get rid of, you may want to have a yard sale and then donate what is left over to a charity.

  8. Step 8

Finally, pack all the stuff you use on a regular basis and have you mail forwarded to your new address.
