How to Lock and Unlock your cell phone for Sprint and many other phones
Here is how you can lock and unlock your Sprint cell phone. I say Sprint because I have not yet tried it with other phones, but there is a possibility it will work with other phones; it also worked with my Cricket phone. I am going through the menu selections of an LG brand phone it might be slightly different menu choices on your phone but it should be close and the end result will be the same. You can unlock your phone whenever you need to for security, to reset to factory settings, or other reasons anytime you want using this method. The exact phone model I am using to demonstarte is an LG Rumor.

Tips & Warnings
If your phone was previously owned by a friend with a different number the lock code might be the last four digits of their old number. Don't quote me on this, but if you have any difficulties with a pre-owned phone call the person you got it from and ask for the old number and try the last four digits. Or ask them if they had a customized code.
Always write down your lock code for your phone and put it in a safe place that you will not forget.
