Just like other pieces of electronics, ipods often stop or freeze and need to be restarted. Just follow these simple steps to restart your ipod and get it functioning once again

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Your Ipod
  • Your fingers
  1. Step 1

Make sure that the Ipod has a full battery charge and then disconnect the Ipod from the computer

  2. Step 2

Toggle the hold switch of the Ipod, located on top of the Ipod, on and then off

  3. Step 3

Simultaneously press and hold the Center (Select) and Menu buttons on the click wheel of the Ipod for 6 to 8 seconds until you feel a click, the screen turns black, and the Apple logo appears.

  4. Step 4

The Ipod should restart and be ready to go. If the Ipod doesn't restart the first time, try the entire process again. If the Ipod will still not turn on or restart, or if you need some additional troubleshooting tips, just check out the support section of the Apple store by clicking on the link below
