Being a Buffalo Bills season ticket holder, I have been to many cold weather games. Cold weather games could be fun, but if you're not dressed properly, they could be one of the worst experiences of your life.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Heavy jacket
  • Gloves
  • Hat or ear warmers
  • Multiple layers of shirts
  • Wool socks
  • Boots
  1. Step 1

Get a winter jacket of the team you're rooting for. Team jackets usually aren't super expensive, and if you buy one, you could be supporting your team, while still keeping warm at the same time. If you don't have a team jacket, then just make sure that you wear something that's very heavy, and something that will repel rain. I've been to many games where snow often turns into sleet, and the last thing you want is to be soaked through.

  2. Step 2

Wear multiple layers of shirts. Wearing many layers might seem uncomfortable, but trust me, you'll be glad you did! Remember, you always want to over dress for cold weather games...if worst comes to worst and it's not as cold as you thought it was going to be, you can always take one of the layers off.

  3. Step 3

Bring an extra pain of gloves. A lot of times when the snow turns into rain, or sleet, your gloves will end up getting completely soaked, which makes your hands freezing, and kind of defeats the purpose of wearing gloves in the first place. So, I usually bring along a second pair of gloves and leave them in my pocket, just incase.

  4. Step 4

Bring something that will cover your ears! It doesn't matter whether you have a winter hat or just an ear warmer, but you need to bring something that will keep your ears warm. In most stadiums the wind is swirling around, and after about 10 minutes without a hat your ears feel like they are going to fall off.

  5. Step 5

Wear boots, not sneakers. Once the temperatures start to drop, sneakers just aren't going to cut it. When I'm at games, I wear wool socks, and boots and my feet still get cold, so you can imagine how it would be with sneakers. You might even want to think about putting some of those hand warmers in your boots during the game too (trust me, it helps). Plus, if it's snowing out, you don't want to be walking back to your car with only sneakers.

  6. Step 6

Expect the worst! It's always better to be over dressed, than under dressed. As I said earlier, you could always take off one of your layers if you have to. But, seriously, you will have a much better time if you over dress to cold weather games.

  7. Step 7

Don't be ashamed to leave early. Personally, I stay right to the end of games no matter what the score or the temp, but if it's nearing the end of a game and you're getting too cold, don't be afraid to leave. When games get unbearably cold, everyone knows how it is, and believe me, no one would think any less of you if you left early.
