Things You'll Need:
- Lace or Tulle
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Sewing machine or needle and thread
- Small funnel
- Tablespoon
- Flower seeds
- Hot glue
- Small ribbon bows
-
Step 1
TulleCut the material into heart shapes. The top of the heart should measure 4 inches across. You'll need two hearts for each favor. You can choose to make the heart bigger or smaller if you are not satisfied with the end product.
-
Step 2
Lay two hearts on top of each other and sew them together, creating a pouch. Sew them together about a quarter of an inch in from the edge. Leave a small opening at the top of the pouch to pour the seed in to. It will be best to make the opening at the center top where the humps of the heart come together.
-
Step 3
Place a small funnel into the hole you left at the top of the heart.
-
Step 4
Pour 1 to 2 tbsp. of flower seed into the heart pouch through the funnel. Pour in 1 tbsp. first and see how you like the look. If you want the heart to look fuller, you can add the second tablespoon.
-
Step 5
Once the flower seed is in the heart pouch, sew the hole shut.
-
Step 6
Hot glue the small ribbon bow to the front of the heart pouch where the hole was. The hot glue will hold the ribbon on and help keep the pouch closed where the final stitches were put in.
-
Step 7
Type out short instructions letting the guest know they should plant the seeds in a flower pot when they get home. Print the instructions onto labels. Then cut out pieces of card stock in rectangles slightly larger than the label. Attach the label to the front of the card stock. Punch a hole in the corner of the card stock and thread a small piece of ribbon through the hole. Hot glue the ribbon to the top of the heart slightly under the edge of the bow.
