Obtain a copy of the software. IrfanView can be found on CDs, but it can also be downloaded from the Internet (see Resources).

Open the IrfanView file you have obtained. Your computer, if it is running Windows, should automatically begin the installation process.

Answer the questions that the computer asks throughout the installation process. Take notes as to where the program is being put on your computer (it should be installed in the Programs file), and if you desire, have the computer create a desktop icon for IrfanView.

Run the program to make sure it's properly installed. If it is flawed in some way, delete it and re-install. If not, IrfanView is ready to be used.
