How to Get Hair Color Out of Carpet

If you've ever dripped hair dye onto a carpet, you know how difficult it is to remove even one tiny drop of dye. However, there is no need to give up or replace your carpeting. A simple mixture of vinegar, soap and water, if applied quickly, can remove even the most stubborn dye stains from your carpet.

Things You'll Need:

• Towel
• Sponge
• Soap
• Water
• Distilled vinegar
• Spray bottle

1. Blot immediately with a dry towel or sponge to remove excess liquid. Do not rub or apply heavy pressure.

2. Mix equal parts soap, water and distilled vinegar in a spray bottle. Shake well.

3. Spray mixture directly onto the stain. Completely cover the stain with the cleaning solution.

4. Leave the mixture on stain for 10 to 12 minutes. Do not allow the solution to dry on the carpet.

5. Using a dry towel or sponge, blot the soaked stain until the stain is gone.

6. Using a clean, wet sponge, apply water to the area to rinse away excess cleaning solution.

7. Blot with a dry sponge or towel to dry the area.
