Clean out any outdoor trash cans that may be attracting flies. See where flies are appearing and get rid of the food or other items that may be attracting them. Keep lids on your trash cans so the flies don't return.

Fill a Ziploc bag half full of water and hang it in an area you are having problems with flies. A common theory claims that the reflection from the water may bounce the sound of their wings vibrating back to them, causing them to leave. Whatever the reason, it can help keep flies away.

Hang flypaper in the area if you have something to attach it to, like the side of a building or a tree limb. Make sure it's out of the way so someone doesn't walk into it.

Purchase a bug zapper and hang it in the area. Flies and other bugs will fly into it and be killed. Hang it well out of reach of children and pets.

Light bug repellent candles containing Citronella oil when you are outdoors. The smell of the candles will keep flies and other pests away.
