How to Create a 3D Graphic

If you want to make your website a little bit snazzier than the next guys, then you have to include graphics that really impress your visitors. While 2d graphics can be eye-catching, 3d graphics are sure to get noticed. At one time, creating 3d graphics required an expensive and complex modeling program. But with the advent of cheaper, easy-to-use programs like Hexagon, anyone can create her own 3d graphics. In this article, you will be shown how to create a text logo.

Instructions

1. Decide what you want your logo to be. Generally, it will be the name of your website, business or organization.

2. Open Hexagon. Then click on the "Primitives" tab. Click on the "Text" icon. Then click on the "Perspective" view. A dialog box will open.

3. Select the "Font" you want to use. You can also set several other options, such as "Scale," "Depth" and "Bevel."

4. Type the text into the "Text" box and you will see it also appear in the scene. Then click "Validate."

5. Go to "File," click "Export" and save the logo as a "Wavefront OBJ" file. This is the most commonly used 3d format file and is easily imported into most other programs.
