How to Do Facial Treatments

Facial Treatments

Facial treatments are great for the skin and can be very relaxing. If you have never had a professional facial treatment I would recommend you do so. If not, then one can be done at home that is close to the real deal except for technique. You can duplicate the products and atmosphere easy enough, but not the hands that do it. Does this Spark an idea?

      Facial party

Facial treatments aren't something you do all the time, but for a special treat when you want to pamper yourself. Professional ones are great if you can afford it. However, another way to do it is to exchange one with a friend. You do them and they do you.

I have done many professional facials in the salon as a cosmetologist and also done an exchange with friends one on one and as a facial party. You haven't lived until you've been to a facial party where everybody gets a free facial!

      Steam face

The first thing to do is gather products you need as well as create the right atmosphere for the full effect. This means facial cleanser, exfoliation gel, anti-aging cream, clay masque, toner, moisturizer, small towels, wash cloths, scented candles and a crock pot.

Then prepare a room with scented candles, easy listening music and dim lighting. Dampen towels and wash cloths then roll them up and place them in the heated crock pot to be used on the face later.

      Mud masque

The products will be used in the order mentioned. First cleanse face then exfoliate, steam face with towels then do facial massage with the anti-aging cream. Always massage face with fingertips only in gentle circular upwards movements making sure hair is kept clear.

Remove anti-aging cream and apply masque, allow to dry then remove with wash cloths in crock pot. Use the toner to close up pores then a light moisturizer to relieve any dryness, restore moisture and ease tightness in skin.

      Clean up

Most people don't have a massage table, so a bed or couch will suffice. I have also used flat lying lounge chairs with foot stools, cots and roll-away beds.

If it's a facial party then you need more than one crock pot and more of everything, but if everyone pitches in there's no problem. Then you have everyone help clean up with their happy glowing faces!
