Home remedies for acne can help treat acne blemishes naturally. With so many chemical products on the market, it can be easy to saturate the skin with harmful and irritating substances. Luckily, acne can be helped and healed using items that can be found right in your kitchen cupboard.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    USE APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

Apple cider vinegar has a high acidity and can help restore the delicate acid mantle to the skin's surface. Apple cider vinegar can be purchased at any health foods store or natural foods market, and can be applied to the skin without dilution. Although it is less commonly used than over-the-counter products, apple cider vinegar is not a new acne treatment. This holistic acne treatment can reduce inflammation and prevent the over production of oils in the skin.

  2. Step 2

    USE LEMON JUICE

Lemon juice is also very acidic, and can be helpful in protecting the skin from harmful free radicals. Lemon juice can be taken internally or applied topically, and can both restore acid to the skin and gently exfoliate dead skin cells.

  3. Step 3

    STEAM THE FACE

Fill a large bowl with near-boiling water, and lower the face no closer than 12 inches above the bowl. Drape a towel over the head, and steam the face for 5-7 minutes. Steaming the skin can open up the pores of face, releasing excess oils and trapped dirt and bacteria. Steam the face 2 times per month for maximum benefits.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not hold the face closer than 12 inches over hot water.
