A quick weave is a fairly simple hairstyle for those that prefer to wear weave. The hair can be worn long or short.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Latex hair glue
  • Human or synthetic hair weave of your choice
  • Comb
  • Brush
  • Protein styling gel
  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Hair spritz
  • Blow dryer
  • Flat iron
  • Curling iron
  • Rubber bands
  • Scissors
  1. Step 1

First thing you need to do is thoroughly wash your hair with a quality shampoo to rid your hair of dirt and oils. Once you have washed your hair, use an equally quality conditioner on the hair. Using quality shampoos and conditioners will aid in the health of your hair under the weave.

  2. Step 2

After you have washed and conditioned your hair, in the front of your hair, part out a section of your hair were you would like to leave out. Doing this allows you to be able to make parts where you would like or to blend with the weave to make your hairstyle look natural. Take that sectioned hair in the front of your head and secure it with a rubber band.

  3. Step 3

Once you have sectioned off that hair, start combing the rest of your hair back like you are about to put it into a ponytail. Begin applying the protein styling gel on the hair from that has been combed back. Make sure you apply enough gel to make a coat of gel on the hair. Remember not to put gel on the sectioned off part of the hair.

  4. Step 4

Once you have covered the hair in the gel, comb it into a low ponytail and secure with a rubberband. The hair hanging out of the ponytail should be lifted up and gelled to the top of the head so hair is flat aganist the head.

  5. Step 5

Once hair has been gelled down to the head, sit under the dryer until the gel had dryed and formed a hard mold on the head. When the hair is almost dried, spray a coat of spritz on the hair for added support and sit back under the dryer until the hair is extremely hard.

  6. Step 6

Once hair is completely dry and hard, you can now begin to glue the tracks onto the molded hair. Measure the weave from ear to ear accordingly, cut and glue weave to the molded hair accordingly. Repeat this process until the head is covered how you want it.

  7. Step 7

Once the gluing of the weave is completed you can cut and style the hair the way you want with a flat iron or curling iron.

  8. Step 8

The last step to this process is to WORK IT GIRL!!!!!

Tips & Warnings
  • Use a good quality of human hair.
  • Carry some hair glue with you in case a track decides to fall out.
  • Make sure you wrap the hair up every night or wear a silk bonnet on the hair to keep it from getting tangled.
  • Quick weaves last anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks and the better you take care of your weave the longer it will last but its best to take it out around the 4th week.
  • Do not use oil sheen on the weave because it will make it look really shiny and unnatural as well as run you the risk of making your tracks fall out because latex glue and oil do not mix.
  • Do not wash the quick weave because it will cause the tracks to fall out.
  • Do not comb, brush, or handle the hair too roughly.
