Although lesbians have a lowered risk for STD transmission, safe sex is still important between female partners. Oral sex, anal sex, and sex toys are all capable of transmitting disease and infection.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dental Dams
  • Condoms
  • Latex gloves
  • Water-based Lubricant
  1. Step 1

Buy silicone dildos and butt plugs because they are more easily sterilized. Boil them in water for at least 10 minutes after every use, and before putting in a different orifice or using with a different partner.

  2. Step 2

Before having sex, make sure all silicone toys have been boiled, and all other toys, including strap-on harnesses, have been washed thoroughly with soap and water. Make sure to have condoms and dental dams on hand.

  3. Step 3

During sex, make sure to always use protection. Use a dental dam during oral-vaginal and oral-anal sex. Use condoms on all toys. Wear latex gloves during finger penetration.

  4. Step 4

Use plenty of water-based lube at all times, especially during anal penetration. Lube helps prevent any tearing or scratching of the skin, which in turn helps prevent infections and disease transmission.

  5. Step 5

After sex, urinate or shower as soon as possible. This will help prevent a urinary tract infection.

Tips & Warnings
  • The safest sex is always with someone you know and trust.
  • NEVER use oil based lube with silicone or latex.
