You should read about the purpose of Buddhist Qi Gong. It has to do with meditation which should help give you energy. There are some Buddhist who use it to enhance different and unknown human powers (supernatural powers).

You should never learn any of the advanced techniques before you are good at the basic ones. You should never try to run before you can walk.

Abdominal breathing is the basic premise for Tai Chi Qi Gong.
