Looking for Engagement party invitation wording guides? Congratulations on your Engagement or the engagement in your family. This is an extremely exciting moment in your life and a worthwhile cause for celebration.

This article will provide an engagement party invitation wording guide to create the first invitation in a string of invitations for Wedding affairs. It will also include resources for engagement party invitation wording templates and quotes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1
    Formality

    Formality

CHOOSE THE FORMALITY - The wording for your Engagement party invitation will differ dramatically depending on the formality of the party. The invitation will set the scene for how guests should dress and prepare for the party. Will your party be formal, semi-formal, casual, etc?

  2. Step 2
    Template

    Template

CHOOSE THE TEMPLATE - The template will vary due to who is hosting the Engagement party.

Every engagement party invitation should include the name of the hosts, name of the parties getting engaged, date, time, venue, address, RSVP date and contact details.

    EXAMPLE:
Mr and Mrs (brides parents to be)
    together with
Mr and Mrs (grooms parents to be)
    are proud to invite
    (line or guests name)
to celebrate the engagement of their children
(bride to be) and (groom to be)
    at (venue)
    (venue address)
    on (date)
    at (time)
    dress code
    RSVP
    (Contact details)

See more examples in Resource Section below.

  3. Step 3
    Quotes

    Quotes

CHOOSE THE QUOTE - Many people will want to display a quote specifically regarding the engagement. Consider using a personal quote (such as the lines of the proposal), or a quote of love which has lasted throughout time.

These quotes can come from the Bible, famous people or even Hallmark Cards. See resources section for further information.

Tips & Warnings
  • The tone of the invitation will set the tone for the Engagement Party and possibly the entire wedding.
  • In many families engagement parties are optional. Do not stress having a formal engagement family if it will be a hardship to you. There are many other invitations coming up which can be formal (Bridal Shower, Bachelorette Party, actual Wedding invitation!)
