Losing weight just after having a baby can be tough, but with a little effort you can shift that pregnacy fat

Your beautiful new addition to the family has arrived bringing you great joy. However, one of the least favourite parts of having children is the weight you gain during pregnancy. Most normal women do not have the seemingly magic ability that celebrities possess to slim down to their pre-pregnancy figure in a matter of weeks. However, it is possible to get your figure back with these pregnancy weight lose tips and some determination. There are ways to lose pregnancy weight even with the demands on your time that a new baby has.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • good walking shoes
  • a pram for the baby
  • a friend or two for motivation
  1. Step 1

Breastfeed your baby. One of the easiest ways to quickly lose pregnancy weight is to breastfeed your baby. Many women who breastfeed their baby will burn weight quickly, as it burns hundreds of calories per day. Breastfeeding is also a great way to give your baby immunity to various bugs.

  2. Step 2

Get your diet in order. One area where many women fall down while trying to lose pregnancy weight is their post birth diet. During pregnancy a woman will get used to eating much more, however some women find that they continue to eat more after they give birth making it impossible to shed those unwanted pounds. After birth eat a healthy diet.

  3. Step 3

Start to exercise. After giving birth get into the habit of exercising everyday, even if it is just going for a walk. If the weather is good you can put your baby in a pram and go for a walk together. If any of your friends want to get fit have them join in. This is a great way to stay motivated and something you can look forward to each day. Once you have had your post pregnancy exam you can start to increase the amount of exercise you do it if the doctor says it is ok. Make sure to ask your doctor for advice.

  4. Step 4

Be patient. Everyone is different so don't give up if your pregnancy weight takes longer to come of than someone you know. Ensure you eat a healthy diet and continue exercising.

  5. Step 5

Be careful after you stop nursing your baby. Another area where women back track on their pregnancy weightloss is after they stop nursing their baby. They will often continue eating the same amount they were to accommodate nursing and don't do exercise. This can lead to some weight gain. Instead look at how much and what food your are consuming. Make sure you are eating healthy, low fat foods and doing some exercise every day.

  6. Step 6

Do not get desperate and try a dangerous diet. There are many fad diets out there and not all of them are healthy. If you decide to go down the diet route choose a healthy diet plan, such as Weight Watchers or Slimming World.

Tips & Warnings
  • Watch how much you eat when you stop breastfeeding
  • Start walking soon after giving birth and increasing exercise when your doctor gives you the all clear
  • avoid dangerous fad diets
