Instructions

    • 1

Take the chicken out of the package and rinse inside and out. Be sure to pull out anything that may be inside the chicken like a gravy bag. If you want to cook the liver and neck inside the chicken, that is fine.

    • 2

Put the rinsed chicken in the stock pot and cover with water. You may add onion slices and salt and pepper if desired.

    • 3

Put the pot with the chicken on medium-medium high heat and allow the water to come to a full boil.

    • 4

You can lower the heat back to medium after a full boil is reached. Cover the chicken and allow to boil 30 minutes to 1 hour, turning the chicken over a few times in between. You will know the chicken is done when the skin and meat simply fall off and the legs break apart easily. The chicken should be very tender.
