How to Sync a Bluetooth Headset to Your Blackberry

Synching, or pairing a Motorola Bluetooth headset to your Blackberry phone is relatively simple and painless. If you want to be able to set your Blackberry up to allow you to talk hands free for safer driving or while working, then this is how you do it.

Things You'll Need:

• Blackberry
• Motorola Bluetooth enabled headset

1. The first step may sound trivial, but make sure that both your Blackberry phone, and your Motorola bluetooth enabled headset are fully charged. If they have weak batteries, the pairing of the two devices will not work.

2. Next turn on your Bluetooth enabled headset device so that it will be sending out a signal. You want to do this so that your Blackberry device can find the Bluetooth headset device when we move on to the next steps.

3. The next thing you need to do in order to pair your Motorola bluetooth enabled headset with your Blackberry phone is to enable bluetooth on your Blackberry device. To do this open your Blackberry Applications Menu.

   Scroll through the icons until you find the Bluetooth logo with a gear next to it. This icon is called "setu Up Bluetooth". See picture attached for image of the logo you should click on.

5. When you click on this, you should get a message that prompts you to enable bluetooth or add a device. If you have Bluetooth enabled, then most likely you will see the screen that says "Add Device". You will also have two options at this point to either search for devices or to allow another device to find you. Select "Search for devices" and click "OK". If you do not get these options, simply click on your menu button on your phone while in the Bluetooth Setup screen, and you can select "add device" from the menu.

6. Your Blackberry will then search for Bluetooth devices in range and show them to you in a menu selection. Select your Motorola Bluetooth enabled headset device and click ok. Your Blackberry will then start the pairing process to add your Motorola device to the list of Bluetooth enabled devices.

7. Upon a successful pair of the Motorola bluetooth enabled handset, you will receive a prompt to enter in the "numeric passkey" for the Motorola device. The default Motorola Bluetooth code is 0000 (four zeros). Enter these in and then click "OK".

8. Your Blackberry should now complete the pairing and you will see the Motorola Bluetooth enabled headset device added to the "Paired Devices" list. Go ahead and test out the pairing by trying to make a call. Put your device to your ear and you should hear your call being made through the Motorola Bluetooth headpiece.

9. To disable the Motorola bluetooth headpiece, simply turn it off and your Blackberry will resume the primary function for taking and making calls. To turn the headset back on, simple scroll into your menu options from your address book when making calls and click "enable headset", or just turn on your device.
