How to Clean a Glossy Laptop Screen

When a laptop is new, it has that beautiful glossy screen that makes the colors look bolder and the contrast brighter. Because dust is always drawn to electronic screens, it doesn't take long for it to leave a film on your screen, quickly turning it from glossy to dingy. Between that and fingerprints, every now and then your screen will need to be cleaned. Fortunately, it's a simple process that will restore your screen's shine and clarity in only moments.

Things You'll Need

• Isopropyl alcohol
• Microfiber cloth

Instructions

1. Turn off the laptop and make sure it is unplugged.

2. Mix a solution of distilled water and isopropyl alcohol in equal parts.

3. Spray the solution on a soft, clean microfiber cloth.

4. Wipe the screen thoroughly with the damp cloth to remove all dirt, dust and fingerprints.

5. Use a clean, dry microfiber cloth to dry the screen completely before turning it back on.

Tips & Warnings

• Be sure to use distilled water. Chemicals in tap water may damage the screen.

• Do not spray the solution directly on the screen, as this may damage the laptop.
