How to Donate an RV to a Special Needs Home

It is always better to donate something that you are no longer using than to throw it away, and your RV is no exception. There are companies around the world that will take your RV to sell or give to someone in need.

Instructions

1. Find a company to donate to, like 1-800-Charity-Cars. Always do some background research on your company of choice to ensure that they are legitimate.

2. Contact the company about your RV. Charity Cars will ask you specific information in order to decide whether your RV will be donated to a needy family or sold at auction.

3. Deliver the RV to the company, or have it towed. Turn your vehicle title over to the company as well.

4. Obtain your tax credit. The company will either give you a credit for the amount your RV sold for, or the vehicle's fair market value.

Tips & Warnings

• Make sure you are sure about the donation before handing over the keys and title. Most companies are not willing to return the RV if you change your mind.
