How to Tint Windows in Photoshop

Photographers have a lot of tricks up their sleeves. But when the camera lets them down, there is always Adobe Photoshop, which can be used to retouch or repair almost any photographic problem. One problem you may run into is that occasion when the person or place you are photographing turned out fine, but right behind them is a window full of things you didn't want to see. When this happens, add some dark tinting to the window, and suddenly the unsightly mess on the other side disappears.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Photoshop. Then go to "File" and click "Open" to browse to the image you want to work with.

    • 2

Go to the Toolbar, and select The "Polygonal Selection" tool. Use it to select the area of the window that needs tinting. Don't select any leaves or other items in between the camera and the window pane.

    • 3

Go to Edit, then Adjustments, and select "Hue/Saturation". In the dialog box that opens, change the "Saturation" to -25, and change the "Lightness" to -30. That will tint the window.
