Things You'll Need:
- Linens: sheet sets, comforters, etc.
- Washer and dryer
- Dryer sheets
- Contractors' (heavy duty) trash bags
- Labels to write on
- Permanent marker
- Duct tape
- Optional: plastic bins of varying sizes
-
Step 1
Freshly launder and completely dry any linens and bedding materials to be stored. Compactly fold them.
-
Step 2
Place the items in one of the contractor's trash bags. These bags are designed for heavy building materials, and they will help keep your linens clean and dry until you get them out to be used.
-
Step 3
Place a couple of dryer softener sheets into the bag between the linens to keep things smelling fresh. Fold the bag over itself to get as much air out as possible. Tape any openings shut with duct tape to keep out dust, moisture and critters!
-
Step 4
Write the date and contents of the bag on the label in permanent marker, and affix the label to the bag. Put your items in a new storage place such as a closet in a spare room, in a laundry room cupboard, or under a bed. Now you have more space in your linen closet.
