How to Find the Right Golf Shoes
Most people don't think much about their feet while swinging a golf club even though they are very important. If your golf shoes do not fit properly, this can affect your swing and your comfort. Having the wrong type of shoes or shoes of the wrong material can be detrimental as well.

How to Find the Right Golf Shoes
-
1
Consider the weight of the shoe. If you tend to walk a lot instead of ride in a cart, or if you have trouble with your hips or knees, you will want a lighter shoe.
-
2
The material should be real leather. This will generally be the most comfortable as leather tends to form itself to the foot. Leather is also much more durable.

3
Choose a shoe with soft spikes instead of metal. Most courses do not allow metal spikes, and the soft spikes also make the shoe more lightweight. Soft spikes are easily changed and can add to the life of the shoe.
-
4
Be sure to measure your foot at the store. Do not just assume the golf shoe size will be the same as your typical sneaker or dress shoe.
-
5
Try several styles of golf shoes. Walk around the store in them, try the next size up and down if only to confirm which size is most comfortable.

Tips & Warnings
Shoes with mesh or breathable material might be a better option than leather in very hot, dry climates.
Sandal golf shoes are increasing in popularity, but you should note that, while perhaps comfortable, they do not offer solid support and do not protect your feet from bugs or chemicals that might be on the course.
