Although there are ways to block websites that include gambling, violence or pornography, it can be somewhat trickier to block an unusual website that, for some reason, you distrust and do not want to appear on your computer. A different process needs to be taken when blocking a site like this.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open Internet Explorer. After Internet Explorer has opened, click Tools > Internet Options.

  2. Step 2

Find the tab that says "Privacy" at the top of the window. Click this tab to open. Click the "Sites" button.

  3. Step 3

Type in the address of the unusual website you want to block into the "Address of Website" text field that appears. Click Block > OK. The unusual website should now be blocked.

Tips & Warnings
  • Only 1 site at a time can be blocked unless you are blocking categories like pornography and gambling.
  • Enter the complete Web address into the "Address of Website" text field or you run the risk of not blocking the site. This includes the "http://."
