Are looking for a special Father's Day gift for your husband from your child? Look no further! This project is sure to be a keepsake!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Black ink pad
  • "Walk a Little Slower" poem, printed on nice paper
  • Mod Podge
  • Piece of Wood, large enough to fit both feet
  1. Step 1

    Type or print the following poem:
    "Walk a little slower Daddy," said a child so small.
    "I'm following in your footsteps and I don't want to fall.

    Sometimes your steps are very fast,
    Sometimes they're hard to see;
    So walk a little slower, Daddy, For you are leading me.

    Someday when I 'm all grown up,
    You're what I want to be;
    Then I will have a little child
    Who'll want to follow me.

    And I would want to lead just right,
    And know that I was true;
    So walk a little slower, Daddy,
    For I must follow you." -Author Unknown

  2. Step 2

    Cut out the poem and place it to the side. Brush one coat of Mod Podge on the left side only of the wood and gently place the poem in the Mod Podge.

  3. Step 3

    Press your child's right foot in the ink pad. Be sure to evenly coat the foot and press it onto the right side of the piece of wood, near the bottom.

  4. Step 4

    Press your child's left foot in the ink pad. Be sure to evenly coat the foot and press it onto the wood, near the right foot, but ahead of it, like your child walked across the wood.

  5. Step 5

    Let everything dry thorougly. Brush another coat of Mod Podge over the entire front of the piece of wood. Let this dry and repeat once more.

Tips & Warnings
  • To make this project a bit easier, use paper instead of wood, and eliminate the Mod Podge. Also, you can use paint instead of an ink pad.
  • You may want to experiment with washable ink pads before beginning this project.
