Step 1
Listen to him. Don't interrupt constantly when he's trying to talk to you, give him your full attention when you're communicating. If you are unable to at the moment, let him know that rather than make him think you don't care what he's saying.

Do nice things for your guy. Figure out what it is that makes him happy, and make an effort to do the things for him that makes his life more enjoyable. Your efforts WILL be appreciated. From affection to sex to having coffee ready for him when he gets up in the morning, all guys are different, so different things will make them happy.
I'm not suggesting becoming a servant or doing things you would rather not do. You will know he cares for you if he makes an effort to keep you happy as well. -
Step 3
Surprise him once in a while. Occasionally go beyond what he would expect from you. If you are close as a couple, you will know what his dreams and interests are. Plan something special and surprise him with it. It doesn't have to be expensive like an exotic trip(although there's nothing wrong with that, if you can afford it, go for it)but it should be something that has special meaning for him, and if it has special meaning for the both of you, that's even better.
